A little creativity, a deeper meaning

The Story Behind Trala

A small idea with a heartfelt purpose: to bring people together through handmade Diwali traditions.

Made with intention

From One Young Indian Creator

Hi, I’m Vaishnavi — a young Indian creator and software professional who has always believed that creativity can make ordinary moments feel special.

I created Trala’s DIY Diya Painting Kit with a simple thought: what if preparing for Diwali became more than buying decorations? What if it became time spent making something with your own hands, alongside the people you love?

That thought became this kit — terracotta diyas, colours and decorative details that invite you to slow down, experiment, and create something uniquely yours.

Creativity Meets Culture

A diya is a familiar symbol of Diwali — light, hope, and the movement from darkness towards brightness. Lighting a diya can also be a moment to pause, reflect and share the stories and traditions that matter to your family.

With this kit, children can explore colours and patterns while parents and elders share the stories of Diwali in their own words. It is a hands-on way to encourage imagination, artistic confidence and curiosity about culture.

There is no single “perfect” design. A simple pattern, a bold colour, or a diya decorated with a child’s own idea can become a treasured part of your celebration.

Why we made this kit

To make a creative activity easy to begin, enjoyable to share, and meaningful beyond the finished object — whether you paint with your children, invite friends over, or spend a quiet afternoon making something by hand.

Make This Diwali Together

Set aside a little time, gather your favourite people, and create diyas that carry a memory of the day.
